How do I configure my iPhone/iPod/iPad to check my Rutgers email?

Detailed instructions are maintained in our online document area, under the title Configuring iOS for Rutgers-Camden Email.

Below is a summary of the basic steps required to setup your Apple iOS device to read your Rutgers-Camden email.  Please note that our documentation is based on the v3.1.2 software for iPhone/iPod Touch, but should be applicable up to v4.0.2, including iPad.

  • Touch the Settings icon and scroll down to the section marked Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  • Touch the Add Account button, and choose Other from the list of mail account types.
  • Enter the information as prompted for your New Account, then touch Save.
    Note: Upon saving, it may take a few seconds for the device to verify/lookup your account information.
  • On the screen the follows, make sure that IMAP is selected.
  • Your User Name is your NetID (do not include @camden.rutgers.edu for user name)
  • Your Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers are:
    Camden Students: email.clam.rutgers.edu
    Camden Faculty & Staff: email.crab.rutgers.edu
