Email for Students
All student email services at Rutgers University are handled exclusively by ScarletMail.
Note: the integrated web mail client in the myRutgers portal has separate preference and address book storage from those in the ScarletMail service, even though the portal can access the remote mailbox.

Email for Faculty and Staff
In Camden, many faculty and staff still have email delivered to a crab account. Accounts on the crab server are provided to all Camden faculty and staff at no cost to the academic and administrative units on the Camden campus. Faculty and staff may also have ScarletMail accounts, which are part of Google Apps for Education at Rutgers and are also provided at no cost.
Sometime prior to July 1, 2016, email services for current Camden faculty and staff will be migrating to a new system called Rutgers Connect. Rutgers Connect is a central email, calendar, and cloud service system that will consolidate all university email systems for faculty and staff at Rutgers. Retiree email is migrating to ScarletMail. Additional information about changes to retiree email services and about Rutgers Connect can be found on the Email at Rutgers-Camden page.
There are also two enterprise mail systems available to Camden staff which do charge for accounts. These systems use Exchange (camlink) and Zimbra (rumail). If you are not sure whether you have an account on one of the enterprise mail systems, contact your department’s local support staff or the Computing Services Help Desk.
